Discover the Incan treasure of Machu Picchu with an 8-day all-inclusive Peruvian adventure from Virgin Vacations starting at $4149 per person.

Arrive in the city of Lima where you'll spend your first night in Peru at the luxurious Country Club Lima Hotel. Explore Lima's colonial-era churches, mansions and other historic sites, and then have dinner on your hotel's romantic terrace. The next day you'll fly to Cusco before setting off with a guide for the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You'll visit a colorful Indian market in Pisac, where people living in the highlands come down to exchange goods in a trade called "trueque," as well as the small Andean village of Chinchero, where you'll explore Incan ruins.

After spending the night in a private Urubamba Villa, you'll travel to the ancient Incan cities of Maras and Moray and enjoy amazing views of the Sacred Valley. After breakfast at your Villa the next morning, you'll visit Ollantaytambo, a spectacular Incan temple and fortress. Then board a train to Machu Picchu, one of the great wonders of the world. Settle into your casita at the Inkaterra Machu Picchu and relax in the resort's Andean Sauna, a domed wet lodge built from eucalyptus branches. You'll need your rest before your exploration of the incredible archaeological site of Machu Picchu the next day. There are any number of hikes you can choose to take in this magical place. Ascend the Machu Picchu mountain to the Summit of Apu Machu Picchu. This trail, accessed from
the sanctuary, joins parts of the Inca trail leading to the Sun Gate before climbing to the mountain's highest point. For a less strenuous hike, follow the railroad tracks along the Vilcanota River into the Mandor Valley to visit its waterfall. The Valley is inhabited by varied and fascinating birdlife, including cock-of-the-rocks, speckle-faced parrots and green jays.

Relax and bathe under the waterfall before walking back to the hotel in the shadow of Machu Picchu.
