.making love last

For couples who have been together a long time, the question most often asked of them is how do they make it last? What makes their relationship different from the rest?

We all know that falling in love is easy--face it, sometimes too easy--but staying in love is a challenge for many. In his upcoming new book, Why I Still Love You, author Gregory E. Lang explores the mystery of long-lasting relationships and presents a hundred reasons why love lasts. This is more than just a list of platitudes like "He makes me laugh" or "She's my best friend." It's a celebration of commitment. Lang recounts how his connection to his own wife deepened after the death of his elderly aunt--whose husband of over 50 years was right by her side to the end. "When I next laid eyes on Jill, I saw her differently," writes Lang. "I held her differently, I loved her more." The book includes many wonderful photographs of couples of different ages and backgrounds who share one thing--they're still in love.

Why I Still Love You reminds us that even if the initial spark that brings two people together fades over time, it's replaced by something that burns stronger--a shared bond that, if we're lucky, lasts a lifetime.
