| .weekend antiquing |
One of the great things about antiquing in NYC is having such a vast selection in one spot. Head to these sprawling West Side markets this weekend to find your vintage treasures.
Showplace Antique Center
40 W. 25th St. (Between 5th and 6th)
This cavernous indoor market in Chelsea takes up four floors and features more than 250 galleries. You'll find everything here--jewelry, vintage clothing and accessories, ceramics, art, antiquities, period furniture, lighting, and more. Make a pit stop at their Espresso Bar & Cafe for refueling between galleries. Open 7 days a week.
West 25th Street Market
W. 25th St. (Between 5th and 6th)
Just outside the Showplace Antique Center, this popular weekend outdoor flea market has up to 125 vendors selling antiques, collectibles, and other types of vintage and retro decorative arts. Designers in the know have been shopping here for years. Open Saturday and Sunday.
The Antiques Garage
W. 25th St. (Between 6th and 7th)
Go up the block and back inside to this favorite among shoppers. More than 100 vendors on two floors sell eclectic antiques and decorative arts, including paintings and prints, vintage jewelry, handbags, fabrics, rugs, furniture, and an extensive collection of fine silver. Open Saturday and Sunday.
Hell's Kitchen Flea Market
39th St (Between 6th and 7th)
Take the $1 shuttle outside The Antiques Garage uptown to 39th Street and explore this bustling outdoor market in the neighborhood that's now fashionably known as Clinton. Recently combined with The Chelsea Annex, the market is home to 170 vendors with unique items like pocket watches, hats, silver pens, pre-World War I purses, mid-century furniture, vintage posters, and other collectibles. Open Saturday and Sunday.
